Objective To improve the method of laparoscopic appendectomy.Methods Seventy-four patients suffering from appendicitis including 71 acute appendicitis and 3 chronic appendicitis aged from 7 to 64 years were treated by one pore laparoscopic appendectomy between February 2004 to July 2005.Results The duration of the operation was from 5 to 20 minutes and averaged 17 minutes.The hospital stay was 2-3 days.There was no need to suture and no scar left and no complication during and after operation.Conclusion The one pore laparoscopic appendectomy is a simple,conveninet,safe and minimal invasive procedure for the treatment of appendicitis.
