Abstract:Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of mortality in China, accounting for nearly half of all deaths. In the context of a rapidly aging population, persistently suboptimal control of modifiable risk factors, and the accelerating advances in interventional therapies, artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary integration, cardiovascular medicine in China is undergoing a critical transition toward high-quality, value-based development. Based on the current epidemiological profile of CVD and the developmental status of the discipline, this article systematically proposes three essential strategic shifts: the transition from “treatment” to “cure”, the shift from “treatment” to “prevention” and the evolution toward “comfort-oriented medical care”. Furthermore, this article explores the key supportive pathways for future development, aiming to provide a theoretical foundation and practical reference for establishing a comprehensive CVD prevention and treatment system tailored to the Chinese population
