Abstract:The complex anatomical structure of the biliary pancreatic junction determines its importance in the human body. The abnormal anatomy and functional disorders of the biliary pancreatic junction will cause the occurrence and development of various diseases, including benign diseases, borderline diseases and malignant diseases. Benign diseases such as lower bile duct stenosis, bile duct stones, Oddi sphincter dysfunction, autoimmune biliary diseases, etc. Borderline diseases include pancreatic cystic tumors such as IPMN and SPN, as well as diseases whose nature is difficult to define. Malignant diseases mainly include malignant tumors of biliary tract, duodenum and pancreas. With the rapid development of endoscopic technology, the biliary pancreatic junction is no longer mysterious, and people's research on the biliary pancreatic junction is more in-depth, and the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the biliary pancreatic junction has made great progress. However, there are still many controversial issues waiting to be solved in the aspects of Oddi sphincter function protection, endoscopic treatment of low-grade malignant tumors, and new surgical methods for function preservation. The biliopancreatic joint is still an area that surgeons need to explore in depth
