Abstract:Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the major causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide.HCC progression and metastasis are closely related to altered mitochondrial metabolism, including mitochondrial stress responses, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)and the abnormalities, and mitoribosomal defects. This review aims to summarize and discuss the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in hepatocellular carcinoma, and propose new ideas for future research
