Abstract:【Abstract】Objective To evaluate the efficacy of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with gabapentin in the treatment of neuropathic pain after endoscopic surgery for far lateral lumbar disc herniation. Methods 60 patients with neuropathic pain after endoscopic surgery for far lateral lumbar disc herniation in our hospital from June 2019 to June 2020 were selected. The patients were divided into control group and trial according to the odd and even numbers of hospitalization numbers. The control group was given gabapentin treatment, and the test group was given wrist-ankle acupuncture on the basis of the control group. The outcome measures were the visual analog scale for pain, the scores of the Low Back Pain Evaluation Scale (JOA), Oswestry Dysfunction Index (ODI) score, and excellent and good rates of lumbar functional recovery. The VAS, JOA, ODI were evaluated before, 2 wk, 4 wk, and 2 month after the treatment. After 2 months of treatment, the overall excellent and good rate of efficacy was evaluated by the modified MacNab standard. Results After treatment, the pain and function of the waist and legs of the two groups were improved compared with the former (P<0.05). After 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 2 months after treatment, the JOA score of the test group was higher than that of the control group, and the VAS score and ODI score were lower than those of the control group. After 2 months of treatment in the test group, the overall curative effect rate of the modified MacNab standard was higher than that of the control group. It is statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The wristankle acupuncture combined with gabapentin has significant clinical effect on the treatment of neuropathic pain after endoscopic surgery for far lateral lumbar disc herniation, which can quickly and effectively relieve pain of patients and promote lumbar functional recovery, with high clinical value.
