Abstract:Objective To study the clinical efficacy of docetaxel combined with endocrine therapy for metastatic hormonesensitive prostate cancer. Methods 259 patients with metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer in our hospital from May 2006 to may 2019 were selected as the research objects. According to the treatment plan, they were divided into endocrine therapy group (221 cases) and docetaxel combined with endocrine therapy group (38 cases). Using propensity score matching method, calipers were set to 0.02, and 37 pairs of data were matched successfully by 1〖DK〗∶1. After matching, there were no significant differences in M stage, age, T stage, PSA, Gleason score, N stage and tumor load between the two groups (P>0.05). Breslow Wilcoxon test and log rank test were used to compare the treatment effect between the two groups The progression free survival (PFS) and tumor specific survival (TSS) were evaluated. Results After matching, the median follow-up time was 13.6 months in the combination group and 225 months in the single treatment group. The incidence of castration resistance was 16 cases and 22 cases respectively. The death cases were 5 and 4 respectively. There was no significant difference in the median time of progression to castration resistance between the two groups (10.2-16.4 months, P>0.05). The specific mean survival time of the combined group and the single treatment group was 14.8 months and 218 months respectively. The median survival time was not reached in both groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Docetaxel combined with endocrine therapy can effectively prolong the progressionfree survival of patients with metastatic hormonesensitive prostate.
