【Abstract】Highthroughput sequencing technology is widely used in the field of tumor gene detection because of its significant advantages of high output and high resolution. The expert Committee of tumor markers of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology and the China tumordriven Gene Analysis Union have formulated the expert consensus on the application of the second generation sequencing technology in accurate medical diagnosis of tumors. In order to guide clinicians and NGS practitioners to better carry out clinical practice, this paper conbined with this consensus briefly interprets the application value of NGS detection in accurate diagnosis of tumors, the detection process and quality assurance of NGS, and the report and interpretation of the results. 
