Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between MPO / PON1 and HDL in patients with coronary heart disease and the protective effect of quercetin on HDL function. Methods 150 patients with AMI and non CHD were selected. The basic clinical data, biochemical indexes and fasting venous blood were collected to determine the levels of MPO and PON1 in plasma. Human monocytes (THP 1) were cultured and induced into macrophages. They were used in serum intervention experiments of apoB deficiency in patients with AMI and non coronary heart disease. The cholesterol efflux rate, the expression of ABCA 1 and ABCG1 protein and mRNA, and the levels of inflammatory factors TNF α and IL 6 were measured. Results The level of MPO in AMI group was significantly higher than that in non CHD group, while PON 1 was significantly lower than that in non CHD group. The ratio of MPO/PON1 was lower in AMI group than that in non CHD group (P<0.001). There were significant differences in cholesterol efflux rate, protein and mRNA expression of ABCA1 and ABCG1, and levels of inflammatory factors TNF α and IL 6 among the four groups. Conclusion The results suggests the functions of HDL in patients with CHD is damaged. MPO / PON1 level may indirectly reflect the HDL reverse cholesterol transport function, quercetin can improved reverse cholesterol transport function and inflammatory responses in macrophages.
