Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of flupirtine combined with meloxicam in the treatment of acute lumbar sprain. Methods 60 patients of acute lumbar sprain by Sichuan People's Hospital in March 2017 to March 2018 were divided into observation Group (Group F, 30 cases) and the control group (Group M, 30 cases), according to the Random digital table method. Patients in Group M were given administration of meloxicam 7.5mg, qd. Group F was treated with flupirtine 0.1g tid combined with meloxicam 7.5mg qd. Both groups were treated for 168h. Visual analogue scoring (VAS) and dysfunction index (ODI) were observed at 24, 48, 72, 96, 120 144 and 168h after admission. The occurrence of adverse reactions in two groups was recorded. Results The VAS values at 48, 72, 96, 120, 144 and 168h in Group F were significantly lower than those in Group M (P<0.05). The ODI scores at 48, 72, 96, 120, 144 and 168h in Group F were significantly lower than those in Group M (P<0.05). There was no difference between the two groups. There was no significant difference in the VAS and ODI scores between the two groups in the first 24h(P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse drug reactions between group F and group M (P>0.05). Conclusion The combination of flupirtine and meloxicam has good analgesic effect and can be used for the treatment of acute lumbar sprain, with fewer adverse reactions.
