Abstract:Objective To study the value of VTIQ in quantitatively detecting renal parenchyma and collection system in rats. Methods Forty normal male rats were selected and divided into low body weight group and high body weight group according to their weight, twenty rats in each group. The shear wave velocity values (Vs) of the renal parenchyma and collection system of normal rats were measured and compared, using the new VTIQ technology to analyze the influence of different sides and body weight on Vs values. Results There was no significant difference in the Vs values of the renal parenchyma and the same part of the collecting system of normal rats with different lateral groups and weights (P>0.05). There were statistically significant differences in Vs values between the renal parenchyma and the renal collecting system in normal rats (P<0.05).Conclusion The new VTIQ technique can provide a new, noninvasive and quantitative detection method for further study of various renal diseases by quantitatively differentiating the elastic coefficient of renal parenchyma and the aggregate system in normal rats
