Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the status and relevance between selfmanagement behavior and sleep quality in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods 200 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes in the outpatient department of a thirdlevel grade hospital in chengdu city were selected as survey objects. Basic data questionnaire, selfmanagement behavior scale of type 2 diabetes and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) were used to investigate and analyze the results. Results The selfmanagement score of the elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus was (6018±1456), 124 cases (62%) of whom had scored>7 points on the sleep quality index (62%), and the correlation analysis showed that the sleep quality was positively correlated with the selfmanagement level (rP=0211, P<001). Conclusion The sleep quality index score was higher, the sleep quality was worse, and the selfmanagement behavior was worse. Medical staff should pay attention to the assessment of their sleep status, improve their sleep quality, and then improve their selfmanagement behavior when individualized health education for elderly patients with type 2 diabetes.
