【Abstract】 Objective To know the present levels of blood lipid and glucose in middleage and elderly people and the relationship with gender and age. Methods The serum samples of 38078 people in communities Nanchong City were collected to detected the fasting, blood glucose (GLU), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TCH),highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLC) and lowdensity lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLC). Resuts There was statically significant between age and gender with the blood lipid and glucose. The overall blood lipid and glucose levels of 7489 age group was higher than those in other age groups (P＜005). The lipid levels was higher in women (P＜005). Conclusion High blood lipid and blood glucose abnormality rate in middleaged and old people. It should be carried out regularly in the elderly lipids, blood glucose monitoring, prevent the occurrence of high cholesterol and high blood sugar with the public awareness and education campaigns to raise awareness of selfcare.
