Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effect of seminal plasma elastase on zinc and the value of seminal plasma elastase in male infertility by observing the relationship between seminal plasma elastase and zinc and semen parameters. Methods The age, seminal plasma elastase, zinc content of primary ejaculation and the main parameters of semen routine analysis were collected from 139 infertile men in reproductive andrology department of our hospital (according to the standard procedure of WHO 5th edition). Among them, 83 cases were infected with<600ng/ml elastase and 56 cases were noninfected with<600ng/ml elastase. Results There was no correlation between age and seminal plasma elastase (r=013 P>005). The total amount of single ejaculation zinc in the seminal plasma elastase abnormal group was significantly lower than that in the normal group (t=229, P<005), and the sperm motility was lower than that in the normal group (t=243, P<005). The difference was statistically significant (P<005). There was no significant difference in sperm concentration and deformity rate between the seminal plasma elastase abnormal group and the normal group (zn 038 P>005), but there was no significant difference in the abnormality rate (tr 067 P>005) between the seminal plasma elastase abnormal group and the normal group. Conclusion Seminal plasma elastase has no correlation with age and does not change with age. Genital tract inflammation affected seminal plasma zinc and sperm motility, thus affecting male infertility, but had no effect on sperm concentration and morphology. Therefore, attention should be paid to the effect of zinc in seminal plasma and male infertility in patients with abnormal seminal plasma elastase.
