【Abstract】 Objective To observe the clinical effect of selfmade Chinese medicine oral care solution in critically ill patients.Methods The observation group was treated with selfmade Chinese medicine oral care solution. The control group was treated with physiological saline. The oral pH value, halitosis improvement degree, oral mucosa infection and patient satisfaction were observed in the two groups after nursing.Results The overall satisfaction rate of observation group and control group were 785% and 438%. The halitosis improvement rate of observation group and control group wer 90% and 70% (P＜005). The oral pH of the two groups had no statistical significance before intervention. The pH value change of observation group changed after the intervention (P＜005). The rate of oral mucosa infection in the observation group (10%) was lower than that of the control group (333%). Conclusion In oral care, the use of traditional Chinese medicine oral care solution can improve critical patients oral pH value and halitosis symptoms, reduce the rate of oral mucosa infection in critically ill patients and increase patient satisfaction.
