Abstract:Objective To investigate the therapeutic role and antiinflammatory effects of asarone injection in adult patients with acute exacerbation bronchial asthma. Methods In our current study, 80 adult patients with acute exacerbation asthma were randomly divided into control group (regular treatment) and observation group (asarone injection + regular treatment), with 40 in each. Before and after 7 days interventions, the serum levels of IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13 were measured by ELISA. The level of STAT6 in blood lymphocytes were analyzed by western blot. Lung functions (FEV1% and PEF%) and FeNO were also recorded. Results After 7 days treatments, the serum levels of IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13, the level of STAT6 in blood lymphocytes, lung functions (FEV1% and PEF%) and FeNO were all improved in both groups (P<0.05 in all). Meanwhile, the improvement in treatment group was more significant than control group (P<0.05 in all). And no severe side effect was observed in study period. Conclusion Asarone injection is an effective drug for the treatment of adult patients with acute exacerbation asthma.
