Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective The aim of this work is that quality assurance (QA) were performed for all patients' plans by the redefinition of the gamma (γ) passing rate (%GP), and the statistical analysis of dose paint hot of the target and of cold dose spots of OARs. Methods 6 patients of intensitymodulated radiotherapy (IMRT) treatment plans were chosen for the purpose of this study. DICOM files exported from treatment planning system (TPS) were loaded on the software MATLAB. The reconstructed 2D dose distribution from the software MATLAB was compared with that for a TPS and the measured dose distribution by use of the MatriXX. For the new method, we select the beam flux region as computational region (CR), the statistical analysis of dose paint hot of the target and of cold dose spots of OARs, the introduction of a dosearea histogram (DAH) was used to assess the clinical accuracy of TPS. Results The %GP of the traditional method was greatly influenced by the CR (threshold value), but the new method was not influenced by threshold selection, and that the new methods could obtain the dose verification of target and OARs respectively, while providing significantly more additional clinic information. Conclusion The aim of this paper was to achieve clinical interpretability of the %GP, and making the gamma evaluation more closely fit the clinical assessment. It was able to better find the issue that has been identified for treatment planning, and make better guidance for the clinical work.
