Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To examine the clinical efficacy and security of esomeprazole in therapy of stroke complicating gastroesophageal reflux disease in the aged people. Methods Sixtyfour patients were randomly divided into treatment group (32 cases) and control group (32 cases). The patients in treatment group were orally administrated with esomeprazole 40 mg once a day. The people in the matched group were administrated with Omeprazole 20mg once a day. Clinical efficacy and the drug adverse reaction were compared between the two groups after treatment for 8 weeks.Results The symptoms of chest pain,acid reflux and heartburn in two groups were improved after treatment for 8 weeks. The efficient in treatment group (8438%) was higher than that in control group (7188%), (P<0.05).The incidences of adverse reaction of treatment group and control group were 94% and 63% ( P> 0. 05). Conclusion Esomeprazole is effective and safe in the treatment of stroke complicating gastroesophageal reflux disease in the aged people.
