Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To compare freebreathing (FB) and breathhold (BH) diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) technologies for solid organs in the abdomen. Methods 128 patients underwent FBDWI and BHDWI examinations were enrolled. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of normal abdominal parenchymal organs (liver, pancreas, spleen, and renal) and signaltonoise ratio (SNR) values in the same patients were measured. Results No statistically significant differences were identified in ADC values of the abdominal organs between FBDWI and BHDWI (P>005). However, there were statistically significant differences between SNR values of the organs on FBDWI and BHDWI sequences, and SNRs were found to be better on FBDWI than BHDWI sequences (P<0001). Conclusion〓FHDWI not only has no influence on the ADC values measurements of abdominal parenchymal organs, but reduces image noise and increases SNR. It is worthy of clinical popularization.
