Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the clinical and radiological characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the metanephric adenoma. Methods A patient with centrally located renal tumors deep in renal parenchyma without obvious convex was collected in our hospital. The clinical and iconography features and relevant large samples literatures were reviewed in domestic. Results The patients underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy. The tumors without obvious convex, the pathological results was metanephric adenoma. After 1 years of followup, no recurrence or metastasis was found. 65 articles were retrieved including 175 patients. 118 cases of ultrasound, 135 cases of CT scan, 110 cases with enhanced and 27 cases of MRI were retrospectively analyzed. The patients included 88 hypoechoic tumor (7458%), 18 hyperechoic tumor 18 (1525%), and 12 isoechoic tumor (1017%). By CT scan, 67 cases (4963%) were hyperdensity, 42 cases (3111%) were slight hypodensity and 26 cases (1926%) were isodensity, homogeneous or heterogeneous hyperdensity on arterial phase. Lesions showed isodensity in 13/27(4815%) on T1WI, hypodensity in 12/27(4444%), and hyperintensity in 2/27(741%),on T2WI on MRI isodensity in 9/27 (3333%), hyperintensity in 8/27(2963%), hypodensity in 7/27(2593%), isodensity or hypodensity inclusion strip high signal in 3 /27(1111%).Conclusion The clinical features of metanephric adenoma were nonspecific. In ultrasonography MA often showed hypoechoic tumor, plain CT scan showed hyperdensity and enhanced CT value is lower than the same period in the renal cortex CT values. In MRI T1WI dominated signal were isodensity and hypodensity, In T2WI the signal were changing due to the tissue structure and cell degeneration and other factors. Is easy to be misdiagnosed the MA, Partial nephrectomy is recommended, the diagnosis should be confirmed by pathological examination.
