【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of dabigatran treatment for deep venous thrombosis (DVT)in elderly patients. Methods 25 elderly patients with vascular ultrasonic diagnosed DVT in Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital between June, 2015 and August 2017 were included. The efficacy and safety of the drug was assessed in regard to total effective rate, related coagulation index and major bleeding outcomes during a followup of 6 months. Results In the 25 patients, the effective rate for dabigatran treatment was 88%. There was no statistically significant difference for the changes in platelet number (PLT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT),fibrinogen (FIB) and the international normalized ratio (INR). However，dabigatran could decrease the concentration of Ddimmer significantly. Only one patient had the bleeding event. Conclusion Dabigatranis is effective and safe for the anticoagulation treatment in DVT for the elderly patients.
