【Abstract】 Objective To observe the nursing effect of passive position with using selfmade Ushaped pillow in the postoperative of vitrectomy combined with silicone oil implantation. Methods 96 patients of vitrectomy combined with silicone oil implantation were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The observation group was treated with selfmade Ushaped pillow (lying on the pillow with lying pad). The control group was treated with conventional prone position nursing.Results There were significant differences in prone position maintenance time, postural dependence, comfort (P＜001) and hospital day between observation group and control group (P＜005). The neck and waist discomfort, chest tightness suffocation, dyspnea, limb numbness, skin pressure injury and other discomfort of observation group significantly reduced (P＜001). Conclusion The patients used selfmade U shape pillow can maintain prone position, shorten hospital days, reduced the financial burden, improvedthe comfort of the patients’supine and reduce postoperative complications.
