Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the value of Procalcitonin (PCT) and Creactive protein (CRP) in early diagnosis and severity of the judgment in children with sepsis. Methods 104 children with infection were treated in our hospital from January 2013 to June 2015. The children with sepsis were divided into sepsis group (63 cases) and nonsepsis group (41 cases), according to the disease. The PCT and CRP were compared in each groups. Results The PCT and CRP in sepsis group were all significantly higher than that in nonsepsis group (P<005). The PCT and CRP in severe sepsis group were all significantly higher than that in nonsevere sepsis group (P<005). The PCT and CRP in nonsevere sepsis group were all significantly higher than that in nonsepsis group (P<005). The area under the curve in PCT was (09 ± 01). The sensitivity was 901%. The specificity was 856%. The diagnostic accuracy was 839%. The area under the curve in CRP was (07 ± 01), the sensitivity was 798%, the specificity was 699% and the diagnostic accuracy was 705%, the differences of area under the curve, sensitivity and diagnostic accuracy between PCT and CRP were statistically significant( all P<005) Conclusion In the early diagnosis of children sepsis, compared with CRP, PCT has higher sensitivity and specificity. In terms of judging the severity of sepsis, PCT and CRP has the equal clinical value
