Abstract:【Abstract】 Objectives To investigate the clinical outcomes of Denis typeⅢ sacral fracture using sacral decompression lumboiliac fixation. Methods From May 2009 to May 2015,20 patients with Denis typeⅢ sacral fracture were treated using sacral decompression lumboiliac fixation. Radiological outcomes measured after operation and during the followup period. Gibbons scoring system and majeed pelvic scoring system were used to evaluate clinical outcomes. ResultsAll the patients were followed up from 12 to 25 months with an average of 163 months. The fracture healed well without infection and fixation failure. The Gibbons′ score decreased significantly (P<001) from before operation to final followup, while Majeed score increased significantly (P<001).The Majeed score showed an excellent result in 11 cases, good in 4 and moderate in 5. Conclusion Lumboiliac fixation sacral decompression is effective for Denis typeⅢ sacral fracture, which can promote the recovery of nerve injury and quality of life.
