Objective To investigate the association between diabetic macular edema and vitreopapillary traction.Methods Patients with type II diabetes from June 2015 to June 2016 were selected and their clinical information was collected.The result of body examination were recorded and all the patients were examined documenting spectral domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT)and color fundus photography.Some of them were also examined by fluorescence fundus angiography.36 cases with vitreopapillary traction syndrome were included in the study group,while 40 cases with normal vitreopapillary surface in the control group.Patients in the two groups had the similar general condition.Independent-Samples T test and Chi-square test were used to make comparisons between pairs of groups.Results Macular retinal of study group was thicker than that of control group.Conclusion Diabetic macular edema may related with vitreopapillary traction.
