Objective To investigate the advantages of the peritoneoscopic appendectomy through the umbilicus with Zhou's umbilicus lancet and trocar balloon.Methods We performed the operation on 113 patients with our newly-developed surgical instruments guided by Zhou's tenderness point.Results The operation was successful in all the patients and no complication was found.Conclusion The peritoneoscopic appendectomy through the umbilicus with Zhou's umbilicus lancet and trocar balloon has successfully cured patients with less trauma and better cosmetic result.This kind of operation will be successful and applicable in clinical settings.
