【Abstract】Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common chronic respiratory disease in clinic. It is characterized by insidious onset, long course, irreversible progress and high recurrent risk. Therefore, longterm standardized diagnosis and treatment behaviors are needed to relieve symptoms, delay the progress and reduce the risk of COPD exacerbation. Currently, the clinicians in medical institutions at all levels participate in the management and treatment of COPD, correspondingly, the different cognition situations of clinicians have different effect on the management and longterm outcomes of COPD patients in varying degree. This review outlined the COPD related knowledge cognition situations of the clinicians from various aspects in China, aiming at the problems pointed out, it was suggested to further strengthen the enforcement of COPD guidelines, promote the construction activities of COPD prevention and treatment system in basic hospitals and improve the clinical competence of clinicians,especially primary care physicians with the aim to achieve the maximum possible gain for COPD patient.
