Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate the accuracy of VITEK 2 Compact in detecting the sensitivity of imipenem resistant Acinetobacter Baumanii to Amikacin in different gentamicin sensitive phenotypes. Methods 80 strains of imipenem resistant Acinetobacter, which were sensitive to amikacin's and different sensitivity phenotypes of gentamicin under VITEK 2 Compact test were collected. The Etest method was used as the reference method, and the KB method was used for the reexamination. Results Of the 80 imipenem resistant Acinetobacter baumannii strains, 22 were detected by VITEK 2 Compact as sensitive to Amikacin and gentamicin, Amikacin sensitivity was detected by Etest and disk diffusion assay (K-B). The other 58 strains were detected by VITEK2 Compact for Amikacin sensitivity and gentamycin resistance. Detection by Etest method and paper diffusion method, 4 of them were sensitive to Amikacin and 54 were resistant to Amikacin. The results of Etest method and disc diffusion method were consistent in this experiment, and the standard coincidence rate (CA) was 100%.The CA of VITEK method and Etest was 325%,The rate of serious error was 675%. Conclusion VITEK 2 Compact detection of imipenem resistant Acinetobacter Bauman in gentamicin sensitive and Amikacin sensitive results was consistent with the Etest method and KB method. When gentamicin was resistance and Amikacin was sensitive, it may produce wrong results. E-test or KB methods were used in daily work to verify the results.
