Abstract:【Abstract】 Aim To investigate the efficacy and safety of debridement and local chemotherapy on the recurrence of spinal tuberculosis. Methods From 2009 to 2013, 16 patients (3 male and 8 female) with the recurrence of spinal tuberculosis underwent debridement and local chemotherapy were retrospectively reviewed. Minimum followup was 2years. The analysis focused on the impact of debridement and local chemotherapy on the recurrence of spinal tuberculosis, The clinical outcome was measured by spinal tuberculosis care standard.Results During the operation, debridement and tube placement were successful. No cross infection that forming of sinus was noted. All patients had evidence of clinical hea1. None of the patients exhibited postoperative neurologic deficits or infections. No instrument complications were found during the final followup.Conclusions The debridement and local chemotherapy provides patients with recurrence of spinal tuberculosis a good and safe solution without significant complications.
