Owing to the high accurate and minimal invasive, roboticassisted surgery has been gained due attention. This review aims to present the history of surgical robotics briefly, and focus on the application of robotic surgery after the year 2015. It compares the robotics with the conventional and laparoscopic surgery. In the meantime, advantages and limits of surgical robots are also evaluated objectively, accompanying the discussion of further potential advances.
