【Objective】 To explore the effects and safety of the combination regime of Yinxing Tongzhi Dripping Pills, levamlodipine besylate and irbesartan. Methods 90 patients were randomly divided into the control group treated with levamlodipine besylate and irbesartan and treatment group treated with Yinxing Tongzhi Dripping Pills, levamlodipine besylate and irbesartan. The treatment duration lasted for 6 months. At the end of 6 months, comprehensive efficacies including pressure changes and adverse drug reactions were recorded. Results After 6 months’ treatment, obvious lowering effects of blood pressure in both groups were observed without statistical significance (P＞005). Microalbuminuria levels, GFR, cystatin, serum lipid levels and hemodynamic index in the treatment group were significantly higher than that of the control group (P＜005). Conclusion The combination regime of Yinxing Tongzhi Dripping Pills, levamlodipine besylate and irbesartan is stable, persistent and safe for elderly patients with primary hypertension.
