Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To evaluate the effects of ultrasoundguided transversus abdominis plane block (TAP) on the postoperative quality of recovery after laparoscopic cholecystectomy undergoing general anesthesia. Methods Sixtytwo American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status (ASA) I or II patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy were randomly allocated to TAP group or control group. The TAP group received 30 ml of 05% ropivacaine, whereas the control group received 30 ml of normal saline. The outcomes included the quality of recovery, which was assessed on the day before surgery and 24h after surgery using the Quality of Recovery 40 questionnaire (QoR40), the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) and patient’s satisfaction. Results Global QoR40 score in TAP group at 24 h after surgery was higher than that in control group. Compared with the control group, ultrasoundguided TAP reduced the incidence of PONV and improved the patient’s satisfaction scores. Conclusion Ultrasoundguided TAP can enhance the quality of recovery and patient’s satisfaction after general anesthesia for laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
