Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective We used SD rats to replicate human’s lumbar disc degeneration (LDD) and evaluate the effect of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction on factorα(TNFα), interleukin1α(IL1α), interleukin6(IL6) and matrix metalloproteinase3 (MMP3) of rats' lumbar disc degeneration (LDD). Methods 8 monthold male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group (NC group), blank control group (BC group), western medicine group (NASID group) and experimental group of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction (ST group). According to the specific value converted the adult daily clinical administration, WC group were continued oral administration with diclofenac sodium for 30 days. The ST group were used Shentong Zhuyu Decoction (Zelan Mixture) to intragastric gavage (once a day) for 30 days. The BC group, NASID group and NC group were perfused with the same volume of saline for 30 days. The physiological saline dose was same with the ST group. After 30 days, all animals were killed and removed the rats' lumbar disc tissue. TNFα, IL1α, IL6 and MMP3 secretion level were analyzed with molecular biology method. Results TNFα, IL1α, IL6 and MMP3 levels of NASID group and ST group were lower than that of BC group (P<005). TNFα, IL1α, IL6 and MMP3 levels of ST group were lower than that of NASID group (P<005). Conclusion Shentong Zhuyu Decoction can reduce the expression of TNFα, IL1α and IL6、MMP3 of rats' lumbar disc and postpone the process of its degeneration.
