Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the value of 2βcarbomethoxy3β(4-fluorophenyl)(N-11-C-methyl) tropane ([11C-β-CFT) dopamine transporter (DAT) PET imaging in the assessment of the progression and severity of Parkinson’s disease (PD) Methods 30 PD patients and their [11-C]-β-CFT DAT PET imaging results were retrospectively analyzed. According to HoehnYahr (H-Y) grade, they were divided into early stage and advanced stage. The difference of DAT uptake in the symptom onset side and contralateral side of caudate nucleus, forepart putamen and posterior putamen was compared. The correlation between DAT uptake and onset age, course of disease, H-Y grade,UPDRSⅢ, NMSS and ADL were analyzed. Results The DAT uptake in PD patients at early stage was decreased, compared with that at advanced stage. In early stage group, the reduction of tracer uptake in forepart putamen and posterior putamen trilateral to symptom onset side was more significant than the forepart putamen and posterior putamen ipsilateral symptom onset side, but in advanced stage group, there were no significant differences. The DAT uptake of striatum had a negative correlation with onset age, course of disease, HY grade ,UPDRSⅢ, but it had no relationship with NMSS or ADL.Conclusion [11-C]-β-CFT DAT PET imaging can help to define stage and assess the severity of PD.
