Abstract:【Abstract】 Objective To analysis risk factors related with pulse wave velocity in patients with essential hypertension. Methods A cohort of 274 patients with essential hypertension from the Jinyang Community Health Center in Chengdu were enrolled including 125 males and 149 females, age (6668±723) years old. Brachialankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) was measured by a Japanese automatic device. Results baPWV had a positive correlation with age (r=0331,P<0001), systolic blood pressure(r=0387, P<0001), fasting bloodglucose(r=0188, P=0036)and central systolic blood pressure(r=0310, P<0001)in male patients. And baPWV had a positive correlation with age(r=0416, P<0001), systolic blood pressure(r=0558, P<0001), diastolic blood pressure (r=0184,P=0025), fasting bloodglucose(r=0.201 p=0.014) and central systolic blood pressure(r=0465, P<0001)in female patients. Multiple linear regression analysis shows age, systolic blood pressure, and central systolic blood pressure. Augmentation Index and anklebrachial index were independent risk factors of baPWV. Conclusion BaPWV is closely related with age, systolic blood pressure, central systolic blood pressure, Augmentation Index and anklebrachial index in patients with essential hypertension .
